Accountability is the product

Pragnesh Patel has spent more than 25 years in freight forwarding, customs clearance and DGFT documentation, and founded Cargoking in 2000 on a conviction that has not changed since: a freight forwarder earns its fee in the moments when something goes wrong: a vessel rolls, a document is queried, a consignee changes at the last minute.

Twenty-five years at the same desk is itself part of the argument. Carrier relationships, customs practice and the judgement to see a problem two days before it becomes one are not things a company acquires quickly, and they are what clients are actually paying for.

Every shipment is a business commitment. The responsibility is to move cargo with clarity, compliance and dependable execution from start to finish.

That conviction set the operating method the company still runs on: plan carefully, document correctly, communicate clearly, and stay accountable until the cargo is delivered.

  • Oversight across freight planning, booking and final delivery
  • Customs and DGFT documentation managed in-house
  • Client communication built around visibility, not chasing

Who we are

A freight forwarder, not a broker

We plan the route, book the capacity, prepare the paperwork and stay on the file until the cargo is delivered. Nothing is handed down a chain of intermediaries, which is why most of our business is repeat business.

More than 500 businesses ship with us, and a good number have done so for more than a decade, through staff changes on both sides, through policy changes and through two decades of shifting freight markets. In this trade, tenure is the only reference that cannot be manufactured.

How we work

Four rules the operations desk runs on

01

Plan before you book

Mode and carrier are chosen against your deadline and landed cost, not against whatever is easiest to reserve.

02

Document correctly the first time

Most delays are paperwork, not transport. Filings are checked in-house before cargo moves.

03

Communicate without being chased

Milestones are pushed to you. You should never have to ask where a shipment is.

04

Stay on the file until delivery

Accountability does not transfer at the port. The same coordinator closes the file.

How we are built

Why clients call us one of the best logistics companies in Mumbai

Not because we say so. Because of four decisions about how the company is run. Each costs us something, and each removes a common reason shipments go wrong.

01

Customs stays in-house

Most forwarders of our size subcontract customs and DGFT work. We employ it. It is more expensive to run and it removes the single most common cause of delay: the gap between the person who booked the freight and the person who filed the paperwork.

02

One coordinator owns the file

Every account has a named person who follows the shipment from enquiry to delivery. You are never explaining your consignment to someone reading it for the first time.

03

The desk answers at any hour

Vessels, flights and customs do not keep office hours, so neither does our operations desk. Exceptions get handled when they happen rather than the next morning.

04

The quote is the invoice

Charges are itemised up front, including the destination and handling costs that some quotations leave out. It loses us the occasional comparison on price. It keeps the clients we win.

Where we work from

Mumbai, and why the location still matters

Cargoking operates from Ghatkopar West, within working reach of Nhava Sheva, India’s largest container port, and of the Mumbai Air Cargo Complex. That proximity is not sentimental: it is the difference between resolving a customs query the same morning and the following week.

Mumbai is also where the carriers, consolidators and CFS operators are concentrated. Being inside that network means space on a tight sailing or a full flight can be found by making a call.

Cargoking is also a registered company in Kenya, so East African movements clear through our own entity on the ground rather than an agent acting on our behalf. Responsibility never changes hands at the destination.

Cargo itself comes from everywhere. Manufacturers across Maharashtra, Gujarat and further inland feed the Mumbai gateway by road and rail, so a client in Pune deals with exactly the same team as one in Andheri.
